Parents Anonymous® as a Level 3 scientific ranking is the only ranked program in the Parent Partner Program topic area and has significant relevancy to Child Welfare Practice, based on the review of peer-reviewed published research of the National Outcome Study (2010).
Child Welfare Highlights Parents Anonymous® Evaluation Findings
Child Welfare, the peer-reviewed journal of the Child Welfare League of America, published the important findings for the National Evaluation conducted on Parents Anonymous®. “Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect: A National Evaluation of Parents Anonymous® Groups” appears in Vol. 89, No. 6 (2010).
Research Findings on Parents Anonymous® Published in the new Journal of Juvenile Justice
The “Parents Anonymous Outcome Evaluation: Promising Findings for Child Maltreatment Reduction” appeared in the first issue of the Journal of Juvenile Justice, the newest publication of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Vol. 1, Issue 1 (2011).
Two Parents Anonymous® Programs Recognized as Noteworthy
The Parents Anonymous® Parent Leadership Program and the Parents Anonymous® Children’s Program were selected as Noteworthy programs to prevent child abuse and neglect. Both programs are highlighted in a publication entitled Emerging Practices in the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect published by the federal Office on Child Abuse and Neglect (OCAN, 2003).
Among Top 50 Strategies To Prevent Violent Domestic Crime
The Parents Anonymous® Program was selected by the National Crime Prevention Council as one of the top “50 Strategies to Prevent Violent Domestic Crimes” because of our program innovations and its ease of accessibility to victims of domestic crime (2002).
A Promising Family Program to Prevent Substance Abuse
The Parents Anonymous® Program was identified as a Promising Family Program to prevent substance abuse by the U.S. Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. The program is showcased in the publication entitled “Strengthening America’s Families: Model Family Programs for Substance Abuse and Delinquency Prevention” which highlights research-based prevention programs that are family-focused and have demonstrated effectiveness (2000).
A National Model for Parents Helping Other Parents and Parent Leadership®
Based on our outstanding accomplishments in the area of Parent Leadership, Parents Anonymous® Inc. was highlighted in the Final Report of the U.S. Commission on Child and Family Welfare, Parenting our Children: In the Best Interest of the Nation, as a National Model for parents helping other parents and Parent Leadership (1996).
A National Model Family Strengthening Program
The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, through an independent panel of experts, selected the Parents Anonymous® Program as a National Model Family Strengthening Program for the prevention of juvenile delinquency (1995).
